A Berlin Label's First Night in a Small KL Room
Pisco Bar is a South American restaurant within walking distance of Changkat Bukit Bintang. Ohrwurm, the techno night Kenny Wee, Callen and Alam started in the city back in 2010, now runs its Fridays there. On November 6, it brings in Tigerhead, who records for Bpitch Control, the Berlin label Ellen Allien founded in 1999, and for the crew 66.Circuit.
Ohrwurm has made a habit of pulling names out of Berlin's mid-tier circuit before they turn into festival headliners, and a working Bpitch Control artist on a KL lineup is exactly that kind of booking: not the biggest name on paper, but a real signal of where the label and the city's own scene currently line up. Tigerhead isn't playing alone: the bill also has Raul Lee, Odd, Meliha and Alam, the DJ who co-runs Ohrwurm itself.

Who Tigerhead Is
Tigerhead grew up in a small city in Bohemia and has lived in Berlin for more than a decade. She released her Bpitch Control debut, "Please Remain Calm" (BPX038), in July 2024, built on her own vocals, recorded in single takes rather than polished into something safer. It leans on the kind of sustained tension and repetition Bpitch has built its identity on since Allien started the label: tracks made to hold a room for an hour, not chase a single drop.
Why the Label Still Matters
Bpitch Control isn't a name to drop casually. Founded by Allien in 1999, the label has carried Paul Kalkbrenner and Sascha Funke through its catalogue and is still signing and releasing more than 25 years on. A booking off its current roster says something about where a room sits in the wider techno conversation, and Ohrwurm has spent sixteen years building the kind of reputation that gets it that call.

If You Go
Dates: Friday, November 6, 2026, doors at 10pm Venue: Pisco Bar, 29 Jalan Mesui, Kuala Lumpur
Most nights, Pisco Bar is a cocktail bar, not a club. On Ohrwurm Fridays the tables get cleared and the soundsystem takes over, and a room this size fills fast once a night like this one makes the rounds online. Get there early if you actually want to stand near the speakers.
