Brina Knauss Closed TOKEN2049 Week at Singapore's MDLR, RaveDAO's Third Year Doing This

A crypto trading platform and a Web3 collective brought Slovenian techno DJ Brina Knauss to a Cecil Street office tower for TOKEN2049 Week, RaveDAO's third year doing exactly this.

On the night of October 9, 2026, RaveDAO and the crypto trading platform OrangeX brought Slovenian DJ Brina Knauss into MDLR, a club tucked inside an office building at 62 Cecil Street, for a set running 9pm to 3am. ArkStream Capital co-hosted. Lucy Guo played special guest DJ, with local support from Shane Naz and Boon Shao.

The night closed out TOKEN2049 Week, and it was held specifically on the Friday after the conference's main days wrapped. MDLR is known for its industrial dancefloor and visual projections, in the middle of Singapore's CBD, not the kind of room a badge-wearing delegate stumbles into by accident. MDLR had jungle legend General Levy on its decks less than a week earlier, on October 3.

Who Brina Knauss Is

Knauss founded the label EMPATH and has played Tomorrowland, Awakenings and Ushuaïa Ibiza. Her sets move through melodic house and techno, built on hypnotic rhythms and rich harmonies. She started in house and techno in 2014 and sharpened her sound in Milan's clubs, until Luciano and Damian Lazarus started paying attention.

She trained classically first, and says that's where the precision in her sets comes from, paired against techno's pulse. Her catalogue includes "Savannah," a single built around a tender male vocal and released on Interstellar Recordings, and she's also played Ultra, Electric Daisy Carnival and Sonar Offweek, with Zamna's South American parties on her calendar too. More material with Interstellar is already in progress.

A Habit, Not a One-Off

This was RaveDAO's third consecutive year running a Singapore event during TOKEN2049 Week: 2024 brought Don Diablo and Bassjackers to Singapore Nightopia, and 2025 moved to ENL1GHT Festival at Pasir Panjang Power Station with Vintage Culture, MORTEN and Chris Avantgarde. RaveDAO says it has now drawn more than 100,000 attendees across its events. Knauss's set was built as the intimate finish to this year's programme. The same October run also included Adam Beyer, the Swedish producer behind Drumcode (marking the label's 30th anniversary this year), playing a driving techno set from 4pm to 11pm in a warehouse at 37 Keppel Road overlooking Singapore's port and CBD skyline on October 4.

"TOKEN2049 Singapore has become one of RaveDAO's most important stages," said Ron Yung, RaveDAO's Operations Lead. "Over the past two years, we've worked with Don Diablo, Bassjackers, Vintage Culture, MORTEN and Chris Avantgarde here."

"Singapore during TOKEN2049 brings together people who often know one another through screens and conference halls," said Sally, OrangeX's CMO. "We wanted to give them a different way to connect, through an artist whose music is best experienced together on a dancefloor."

Three TOKEN2049 Weeks in a row now, a crypto conference has made room for a real techno booking rather than a generic afterparty DJ.
