Five Days in a Forest and Zero Excuses Not to Go: Dekmantel 2026
Over 160 artists. A forest outside Amsterdam. The house music lineup of the summer. You should probably already have your ticket.
There is a version of this summer where you stay home and watch festival clips on your phone. There is another version where you are standing in an actual forest outside Amsterdam at 11am watching Jeff Mills debut a brand new live show while the light comes through the trees and someone next to you is having the time of their life. Dekmantel 2026 is the second version. Choose wisely.

The festival runs from Wednesday July 29 through Sunday August 2, with the main three days of music at Amsterdamse Bos running Friday July 31 through Sunday August 2. Over 160 artists are confirmed across six stages. This is the 12th edition. It is the biggest and most ambitious one yet. And the house music lineup specifically is the kind of thing that makes you open your notes app and start planning your whole summer around a single weekend in the Netherlands.
What Dekmantel Actually Is
Dekmantel started in 2012 as an Amsterdam based DJ, events company and record label built around electronic music at the serious independent end of the spectrum rather than the commercial one. The festival grew out of that same philosophy. No headliner logic that doesn't make sense. No artists booked because they went viral on TikTok. Just a deeply considered program of house, techno, and experimental music put together by people who actually care what goes on the lineup.
The venue is Amsterdamse Bos, a public park larger than Central Park. The forest becomes the festival. Trees frame the stages. The sound systems are designed specifically for outdoor wooded acoustics. It sounds as good as it looks and it looks like a dream someone had about what festivals should be.

This Year They Added a Morning
The biggest new addition for 2026 is Dekmantel at Dawn. A morning program running from 11am to 2pm each day of the main forest weekend, curated in collaboration with Resident Advisor. Music in the forest before the afternoon program kicks in. The crowd is still waking up. The light is doing something through the trees. It's a completely different energy and the artists booked for it understood the assignment.

The At Dawn lineup includes:
- Jeff Mills debuting his new STARGATE project live
- DJ Sprinkles presenting Deeperama
- Sampha playing a rare DJ set
- Eris Drew performing Mystery of the Motherbeat
- Jane Fitz
- James Holden and Surgeon opening the whole weekend live
Weekend ticket holders get access automatically. This alone is worth the ticket.
Also new this year is Into the City. For the first time in Dekmantel is using Paradiso and Melkweg as official festival venues for the Wednesday and Thursday opening days. The festival now starts properly on July 29. Space Afrika open at Oude Kerk. Speedy J takes over Paradiso with his live improv project STOOR alongside Aurora Halal and Barker. DARKSIDE and Juan Atkins play Melkweg. Five full days if you commit to all of it. Your body might not thank you. Your ears absolutely will.
The House Music Names Worth Showing Up For
This is the part of the article you screenshot and send to your group chat. The house music representation at Dekmantel 2026 is serious. Here is who to know and why they matter:
Deep and soulful:
- Ron Trent presenting the world premiere of his LA MARR live show. Ron Trent is a Chicago house legend. A live world premiere at Dekmantel is not a small thing.
- Francios K. One of the architects of deep house. Still plays like he has something to prove.
- Satoshi Tomiie. Co-wrote Love and Happiness with Frankie Knuckles in 1991. The receipts are old and still valid.
- Shanti Celeste. Every set she plays right now feels like the one people will talk about for ages.
Underground and Forward thinking house:
- Jyoty. One of the most exciting selectors in the UK right now. Her sets go places other DJs are too catious to go.
- Benny Rodrigues. Dutch house legend. Playing on home turf. That always means something extra.
- Nicolas Lutz. Slow, hypnotic, completely committed. The kind of DJ where you look up and three hours have passed.
- Konduku. Amsterdam local who has built one of the most distinct sounds in underground house over the last few years.
The back to backs you cannot miss:
-
Ben UFO, Call Super, Objekt and Pariah all playing together. Four of the best selectors in the world on one stage at the same itme. Logistically unclear how this works. Musically it's going to be unreal.
-
-
Eris Drew and Octo Octa. These two together always feel like church.
-
-
DJ Nobu and Wata Igarashi. Tokyo meeting Amsterdam in a forest. The set writes itself.
-
-
Ogazon and Philippa Pacho. Two of the most interesting names in the new generation of house DJs sharing a booth. Pay attention to this one.
-
-
-
The Sound System Is Not an Afterthought
-
-
Dekmantel has always been obsessive about audio. For 2026 the ON2 system by NNNN and OJAS, co-created by Devon Turnbull, replaces last year's Sunflower Sound System and makes its Dekmantel debut in the redesigned Greenhouse stage. The Greenhouse is where a large part of the house programming lives. Standing inside the stage during the right set at the right moment is one of the best experiences in electronic music. The new system is built to make that better. They aren't kidding around.
