Movement Music Festival is back at Hart Plaza, May 23 through 25, 2026, and this year Paxahau is celebrating 20 years of running the whole operation. Twenty years. That is two whole decades of Detroit telling the rest of the world how dancing is supposed to feel. And to mark the occasion, they have assembled a lineup so deep in house music royalty that your average Saturday night playlist is going to feel personally offended.

The full Movement Detroit 2026 lineup and yes, it is actually real. May 23 to 25 at Hart Plaza. Start making your excuses for calling in sick on May 26.

Dom Dolla Flew From Australia to Ruin Your Entire Monday

Dom Dolla headlines this year as an Australian house music star who has built a massive following with high energy sets and club focused tracks. The man traveled from the other side of the planet to headline Movement on Day 3 and if that does not tell you everything you need to know about how this festival pulls weight, nothing will. Dom Dolla himself said Movement is one of his favorite festivals because of the history, the range of performers, and the way people from multiple generations come together, which is truly one of the most wholesome things anyone has ever said while also being responsible for making entire crowds lose their minds. His closing set on Monday is going to feel like the musical equivalent of the last episode of a show you did not want to end.

He flew from Australia to headline Movement Detroit 2026 and your Monday is already not going to recover. Dom Dolla, Day 3, Hart Plaza. Be there.

Green Velvet is Chicago Calling and Chicago Does Not Miss

The common thread running through Green Velvet's entire career has been an unshakeable dedication to the Chicago house sound, rooted in a journey that started with his debut release in 1991 on his own Cajual label. The man left a chemical engineering degree to make house music. He did the math, looked at the spreadsheet, and chose the bassline. Respect right there. Back in 1992, after surviving on a tight budget and maxing out credit limits, Green Velvet made his first notable impact on the dance community with the infectious "Coffee Pot." He has been causing scenes on dancefloors ever since and his Movement set is going to feel like a masterclass in why Chicago and Detroit essentially invented your whole personality.

Thirty plus years of Chicago house music and still not a single miss. Green Velvet hits Movement Detroit 2026 this May and the dancefloor already knows.

The Pyramid Stage Has a Showcase Called "House Your Life" and That Is the Most Accurate Thing

The stages are set, the showcases are stacked, and Hart Plaza is about to become the most important place in the world for three days. Movement Detroit 2026, May 23 to 25.

The Pyramid Stage on Monday hosts the House Your Life Showcase, featuring DJ Minx, DJ Tax, Life on Planets, Mochakk, The Ritual with Anané and Louie Vega, and Tinzo and Jojo. Louie Vega and Anané presenting The Ritual is one of the most culturally loaded sets on the entire weekend. New York house music legend Louie Vega and his partner Anané present The Ritual as a full spiritual experience, not just a DJ set. If you have ever wanted to stand somewhere outdoors and feel like house music is actively restructuring your internal organs in the best possible way, this is the slot.

Hot Since 82 handles melodic house duties across the weekend and if you need help deciding how to describe his sound to a friend who has never heard it, just say imagine someone turned a sunset into a feeling and then made you dance to it. That works.

Detroit's Own Are Not Here to Play, They Are Here to Win

Stacey Hotwaxx Hale, widely known as the Godmother of House Music, is on the bill. The Godmother. Not the cousin. Not the distant relative. The Godmother. Her being on this lineup is not a booking, it is an institution showing up for itself. DJ Minx, DJ Holographic, and DJ Godfather are among the Detroit natives representing the city's underground lineage throughout the weekend. These are not nostalgia acts. These are the people who kept the flame burning when nobody outside of a few block radius was paying attention, and they deserve every single ear pointed at them.

The Back to Backs Are Built Different and Somebody Needs to Be Stopped

Whoever sat down and paired these artists deserved a standing ovation. Carl Craig goes back to back with Cajmere, which is essentially Green Velvet operating under his original alias, making it a Detroit meets Chicago crossover that should not technically be allowed because the results are dangerous to anyone whose knees go weak when a good groove hits. The Martinez Brothers link up with Detroit legend Eddie Fowlkes, and Kyle Hall goes back to back with Byron the Aquarius. Meanwhile Kevin Saunderson revives his E-Dancer moniker alongside his own son Dantiez, which is a generational handoff happening live on stage in front of thousands of people. If that doesn't move something in your chest, please go check your pulse.

Three Days, Six Stages, Zero Excuses

Over 115 artists are performing across Hart Plaza this Memorial Day Weekend, spread across the Movement Stage, Waterfront Stage, Stargate Stage, Underground Stage, Pyramid Stage, and the Detroit Stage, which is dedicated entirely to local artists and the community that built this whole thing from the ground up. Three-day GA passes start at $377.70 and daily passes start $206.70, with VIP options available through movementfestival.com. The VIP passes have been moving fast so treat that information with the urgency it deserves.

Detroit is ready. The lineup is ready. The only question is whether you are going to be the person dancing in the front row or the person at home refreshing Instagram pretending like you were there. Get your tickets now so you won't regret it later.
