Jonathan Pardede has spent close to a decade behind a wall of analogue hardware, but always as one third of a group. On October 2, he plays Jakarta alone for the first time, under a new name: Ugomo.
Dates: October 2, 2026, 10PM to 4AM Venue: Le Cirque, Fairgrounds SCBD Lot 14, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Kav 52-53, South Jakarta Tickets: IDR150,000 at the door
A Decade in Sunmantra, Then a Solo Turn
Pardede co-founded Sunmantra in Jakarta, a live unit that built its name on hardware-driven sets fusing Indonesian psych rock with post-techno and industrial noise, described in the group's own telling as performances that "merged rhythm, noise, and ritual." The project released its debut EP, Esoteric, on San Francisco's Roam Recordings, then followed it in 2019 with Astral Turf on the UK's NEIN Records, distribution most Jakarta collectives with day jobs and rented rehearsal space don't get near.
Ugomo is Pardede on his own: analogue machines, pedals, no bandmates to hand a cable to mid-track. A one-person hardware rig means fewer hands and less room to hide if something drifts out of time, which is exactly the tension House Cartel is selling this show on. The project's billing calls each set "a living organism: evolving, instinctive, and emotionally charged," built from spontaneous composition rather than a locked arrangement.

House Cartel's Room for It
House Cartel is the right crew to hand him the stage. The Jakarta collective has spent close to fifteen years pushing house and techno in a scene that used to run on big room and commercial dance, and turned itself into a label earlier this year without dropping the nights that built its name. For Ugomo's debut, residents Nandi, Robin and Turismo Avenue round out the bill, House Cartel regulars rather than outside bookings, which keeps the night close to home rather than treating a member's solo launch as an excuse to import a headliner.
The venue matches the ambition. Le Cirque, inside the Fairgrounds SCBD complex, is a 250-capacity room built around a Void Acoustics Air Motion system, the kind of rig that makes a difference for a live hardware set where the low end is doing half the storytelling. Le Cirque's own team describes the room as "built for people who come for the music first," with a program centered on deep house, minimal, tech house and disco instead of the commercial mainstream that fills most rooms this size.

If You Go
Doors run 10PM to 4AM on October 2. Tickets are IDR150,000, cash at the door, no presale listed. Fairgrounds SCBD sits on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman in South Jakarta, walkable from the SCBD office towers if you're starting the night early elsewhere in the complex. House Cartel's own Instagram and Le Cirque's page carry the final lineup times closer to the date.
