Music On Comes Back to Pacha Ibiza With a Massive 2026 Season

Marco Carola's Music On returns to Pacha Ibiza for 22 Fridays in summer 2026 with a stacked underground house and techno lineup and the islands' signature Friday energy.

Music On is back. For 2026, Marco Carola's residency returns every Friday at Pacha from May 15 through to a two-part closing party on October 8 and 9, giving the island 22 weeks of programming anchored by Carola himself. The opening night delivered exactly what anyone who has stood in that room on a Friday expects: a crowd that came ready, a lineup that meant business, and a Neapolitan at the controls who has spent three decades proving no one does this better.

The May 15 opening brought together Marco Carola, Paco Osuna, Ilario Alicante, Mason Collective and Da Vid. But the season had already been set in motion weeks earlier. The Pacha Grand Opening Weekend in late April saw Carola launch things with Vintage Culture, GORDO and Frank Storm, followed by a separate open-air session at Destino Five Ibiza with Mau P and Mason Collective on the Sunday. Three appearances across one weekend. He does not ease into things.

How Music On became Ibiza's Friday institution

After rumours circulating that Music On might be moving venue this summer, it has been confirmed that the residency stays at Pacha for 2026, its home on the island for over seven years. That confirmation mattered. Music On has become so woven into the fabric of the island's summer that any change would have felt disruptive.

Music On launched Amnesia in 2012 and running there until 2018 before moving to Pacha in 2019. It has become one of the most respected residencies on the island, firmly placing itself as a staple for tech house, minimal techno and groove-driven house music lovers. The move to Pacha was initally met with some scepticism. Amnesia had been Music On's home for seven years and the two felt inseparable. What nobody thought was how naturally the party would adapt to Pacha's warmer, more intimate atmosphere, or how much the cherry club's layout would suit the kind of long, patient dancefloor journey that Carola specialises in.

From its beginning in 2012, Music On was widely agreed by industry insiders to be one of the island's top four busiest nights, no easy feat considering the fiercely competitive Balearic game of thrones that the island has become. The key to that success was never purely about the name on the door. It was the music that packed out the dancefloor, and the music that allowed everything else to happen.

Marco Carola and what sets him apart from the rest

Born in Naples in 1975, Carola started playing vinyl at 15, turning an adolescent passion into one of electronic music's most enduring careers, founding labels including Design Music in 1996 and Music On in 2011. Across more than three decades he has built a reputation for marathon sets that frequently run six to ten hours, emphasising a gradual narrative build that responds to the crowd rather than dictating to it. At Sunwaves 17 in Romania in 2015, he played for 24 hours straight, a benchmark that still stands in the electronic music world.

That endurance is not a party trick. It reflects the whole philosophy behind Music On as a night. It is not about quick peaks and fast exits. It is about committing to a journey that unfolds entirely on its own terms.

A huge part of Carola's pull on the island comes from his Neapolitan following. Naples has a deep, passionate relationship with techno, and its fans follow Carola with the kind of loyalty more associated with football than club culture. That connection between southern Italy and Ibiza is one of the more fascinating undercurrents in the island's club history, and it has shaped Music On's identity as much as the music itself.

The double-headed closing party format returns too, with Thursday October 8 and Friday October 9 bringing the season to its end. Those closing nights have become events in their own right, the moment the summer consolidates into one final statement before the island winds down.

Beyond the Fridays, the Destino daytime sessions return every Thursday from June 18 through August 20, bringing the Music On sound to the open-air clifftop terrace above Talamanca beach in a completely different register. Same philosophy, entirely different setting.

Season after season the residency has made itself one of the island's most in-demand nights. Twenty-two Fridays, a two-night closing, and a guest list that covers everything worth paying attention to in underground house and techno this summer. The island is running. Music On is why a lot of people get on the plane.

The Destino daytime sessions

The story of Music On in 2026 is not only about Friday nights. The Destino daytime sessions return too, running every Thursday from June 18 through August 20. Destino Five Ibiza sits on the cliffside above Talamanca beach and gives the Music On sound a totally different context: open air, afternoon light, the Mediterranean stretching out below the terrace. The same musical philosophy applied to a setting that could not be more different from the main room at Pacha. It's one of the most distinctive double formats any Ibiza residency offers, and it's part of what makes Music On feel like more than just a club night.

Friday nights at Pacha belong to Carola. They have for years and the 2026 season makes clear they will for the foreseeable future. Season after season, the residency has become one of the island's most influential and in-demand parties. 22 Fridays, a closing party that spans two nights, and a guest list that covers the full spectrum of what serious underground house and techno looks like in 2026. The island is running, and Music On is the reason a lot of people get on the plane.
