Sónar 2026 Just Turned Barcelona Into a House Music Problem

Sónar Barcelona just restructured everything for 2026 and the house music lineup is genuinely one of the strongest in Europe right now. MK b2b TSHA. Glitterbox taking SonarHall at 1am Saturday. Dom Dolla with a full AV show on the biggest dancefloor in the world. Six stages. Music from 5pm to 7am. All in one building in Barcelona. June 18 to 20. This one is not a maybe. Read the full breakdown before you talk yourself out of going.

Sónar is 33 years old this year and is having absolutely zero midlife crisis. No acoustic sets. No heritage lineup. No slowing down. What it is having is the biggest restructure in the festival's history, a house music lineup that should come with a warning label, and six stages worth of reasons to book a flight to Spain before you finish reading this sentence.

For the first time ever, day and night are in the same place. Everything is at Fira Gran Via, 15 minutes from Barcelona city centre. No more splitting yourself between two venues. No more missing the second half of a set because you are on a bus going somewhere else. You get all of it. One ticket. One building. One very long and very excellent weekend.

Six Stages and Every Single One Is Doing Something Unhinged

Sónar 2026. One building. Six stages. 5pm to 7am. The festival did not come here to be reasonable.

Let us go through them because they all deserve a moment.

SonarClub is what Sónar themselves call the best dancefloor on earth and they just upgraded the sound system, the lighting rig and the visual production specifically for 2026. Dom Dolla is bringing a full AV show to this room. Skepta, Charlotte de Witte, Amelie Lens, Joy Orbison, Funk Tribu and Ogazón are also on SonarClub.

SonarLab is being taken over by Rinse FM, the London station that started life as pirate radio in 1994, broadcasting live from the festival across Friday and Saturday night. Pirate radio turned 32 and ended up at Sónar.

SonarHall is the indoor stage that has been redesigned to flip between concert hall and club in minutes. After the live shows close on Friday and Saturday it keeps running as a club until 5am. Friday night from 1am goes to Bogotá queer fetish night BULTO with Amanda Mussi and residents. Saturday night Glitterbox takes over with Mousse T, Melvo Baptiste and Yasmin. The stage literally changes its personality after midnight. Same room, completely different energy.

SonarPark is now fully outdoors with a bigger dancefloor, running until 1.30am Thursday and until 6am on Friday and Saturday. MK b2b TSHA, Sammy Virji, KETTAMA, Chris Stussy, Carlita, and Colleen Cosmo Murphy presenting Cosmodelica are all here. The outdoor house music case for this stage alone could fill a separate article. It is filling this one.

SonarCar is three nights of Speedy J's STOOR Live, fully improvised hardware sessions in a 360 degree in-the-round format, completely unrehearsed, different every single night. No setlist. No plan. Just people with machines doing things that cannot be undone. Terrifying. Perfect.

The House Music Lineup Is So Good It Is Almost Rude

MK b2b TSHA first because it demands to go first. Marc Kinchen is Detroit house royalty, one of the genre's first superstars, still headlining the biggest stages in the world right now. TSHA is the future of the genre, a talent so undeniable it is genuinely unfair to everyone else currently working in this space. These two on the same decks at the same time is the kind of booking that makes you re-examine every other festival you have attended and find them slightly lacking.

MK built the sound. TSHA is building the future. Both on the same stage. SonarPark is not ready for what is about to happen to it.

Glitterbox have been bringing hedonistic house and disco to Ibiza every summer since 2015 and they are bringing all of that energy to SonarHall on Saturday night with Mousse T, Melvo Baptiste and Yasmin. In a room that just got upgraded. At 1am. In Barcelona. This is not a party. This is peer pressure from the universe telling you to go to Spain.

SonarPark also has Carlita's melodic lysergic selections, classic house from Kilopatrah Jones, rising Berlin name LOVEFOXY, and afrohouse from Brazilian DJ Maz and Barcelona local Afri K. Nia Archives is confirmed and if you know what she does to a room you are already nodding. Joy Orbison is doing the UK bass dimension that nobody else can replicate. Sammy Virji just sold out Alexandra Palace twice and is coming to Barcelona next. The house music lineup at this festival is not messing around and it is not asking for your permission either.

The Stuff You Need to Know Before You Book

Thursday runs 5pm to 3am. Friday and Saturday run 5pm to 7am the following morning. There is a SonarBus shuttle running between the venue and Barcelona city centre on all three days, and extra rest areas have been added inside the festival so you can actually sit down between sets without leaving the building. They thought of everything. Including the part where your legs give up at 4am.

A full three-day SonarPass starts at 184 euros. Weekend tickets covering Friday and Saturday are 149 euros. Single day tickets for Friday or Saturday are 89 euros each. That is the price of one fairly average dinner in London for access to the best dancefloor in the world. Do the maths.

OFFSónar runs June 18 to 21 at Poble Espanyol and other Barcelona venues with Mau P, Keinemusik, Adriatique and Elrow all confirmed. Separate ticket. Completely worth it. Barcelona during Sónar week is a city that has collectively decided sleep is optional and everyone has agreed to this silently without a meeting.
