The Best Beach Clubs for House Music in Phuket, 2026

By 6:45pm on Bang Tao Beach, staff are lighting torches and the DJ at Catch Beach Club has eased out of afternoon nu-disco into deep house, and the crowd dancing in matching straw hats hasn't noticed the sun already dropped behind the boats. That's the real Phuket electronic music scene, and it has almost nothing to do with the Bangla Road strip clubs and buckets-of-vodka nightlife that show up in every travel vlog about the island.

What Phuket actually has is four rooms, spread across a west coast where each one is a 30 to 45 minute taxi from the next: a sunset beach club built for deep house, an Ibiza-branded club room that books real touring DJs, one properly underground bar in the south, and a 5,000-capacity room in Patong if what you want is scale over subtlety. None of them are secret. All of them are worth knowing apart before you book a table.

Catch Beach Club, Bang Tao: the original sunset room

Catch has been Bang Tao's anchor beach club since before "beach club" was a marketing term Phuket resorts slapped on every pool bar, and it's still the one locals point tourists toward first. The formula is straightforward: full-day sunbed service from 7:30am, then house and guest DJs working nu-disco and deep house into a proper sunset set as the tide comes in. A day pass runs 4,000 to 8,000 baht depending on the bed you want, which sounds steep until you notice it comes back as food and drink credit. It's not a nightclub. Nobody's queuing past 1am here. It's what you do between 4pm and midnight if you want a real DJ, a beach, and a table you can actually reserve.

Café del Mar Phuket, Kamala: the Ibiza import that actually books

Dates: daily 11am to late, Club Room Wednesday to Saturday from 10pm / Venue: 118/19 Moo 3, Kamala Beach / Tickets: mostly free entry, VIP tables bookable direct

Café del Mar's Phuket outpost trades on the Ibiza name, and the daytime side of it is exactly what you'd expect: chill-out and light deep house over rosé and Mediterranean small plates on Kamala's west-facing sand. What's less expected is the club room's actual booking sheet. Late August brings MK.Santo (August 28) and Trikk (August 29), with Joplyn following on September 4, and Chus & Ceballos, the Spanish house duo who've been filling rooms since the Stereo Productions days, are booked for September 18. That's a different tier of programming than most Phuket venues bother with, and it's the reason to check the events page before you assume this is another sunset-cocktails operation.

Bermudos, Rawai: the one underground room on the island

If Catch and Café del Mar are Phuket's front door, Bermudos is the room you find once someone tells you where to look. It's an open-air bar tucked beside a lake in Rawai, decorated by hand, and it's the only spot on the island with a standing weekend program built around indie, tech house, deep house, acid and techno rather than commercial radio edits. Resident Advisor still has it listed under its old name, Bermudos Reggae Bar, a hangover from before the electronic nights took over the booking calendar. The crowd is the actual draw: barefoot regulars, off-duty hospitality staff and a handful of visiting DJs who found the place through word of mouth rather than a listicle. It won't show up on Google Maps as a nightclub, and that's rather the point.

Illuzion, Patong: the big room, if that's what you're after

Illuzion bills itself as Thailand's number one nightclub, and at 6,500 square metres and roughly 5,000 capacity, it's certainly the biggest room in this guide by a wide margin. The programming leans EDM, trance and hip hop more than house or techno, which is worth knowing before you book a table expecting a deep house night. But it does run underground techno slots too, and if you want confetti cannons, a laser rig and a crowd that's there purely to lose it for four hours, this is where Phuket does that better than anywhere else on the island. Go in knowing what it is: a big room built for a big night out, not a scene.

What's not on this list

Phuket has a long roster of resort day-beach clubs, Nikki Beach among them, that look like they belong in a guide like this and don't make the cut because they run as daytime dining and lounge operations without a real DJ program after dark. We also left off Bangla Road's wider strip: the go-go bars and EDM tourist traps that dominate Patong's reputation aren't part of this scene, they're the reason people assume Phuket doesn't have one. And this is a club guide, not a festival calendar, so EDC Thailand, which lands in Phuket every December (this year's edition runs December 18 to 20), isn't in it either. If you're planning around that weekend, book your club nights for the days either side of it, not during, since most of the island's dance floor traffic funnels into the festival grounds those three nights.

If you go

Dry season, November through April, is when all four of these rooms are worth the trip; outside it, expect closed roofs at the beach clubs and thinner weekend crowds everywhere else. The venues sit on opposite sides of the island's tourist geography (Bang Tao and Kamala on the west coast resort strip, Rawai down south near the fishing piers, Patong in the middle), so budget 500 to 800 baht each way by Grab between them rather than assuming you can bar-hop on foot. None of the four require advance tickets for a standard night out, though a VIP table at Café del Mar or Illuzion is worth booking ahead on a weekend.
