From northern England nightclub circuits to a billion streams on a single track. From a Pioneer DJ ambassador gig to 27 shows across 11 countries in one year. James Hype has been building toward a 2026 like this for a decade and the schedule he has put together proves it is all paying off.
Born James Edward Lee Marsland in Wirral, Merseyside, Hype is recognised for his high-energy tech house and house tracks that blend influences from disco, R&B, and hip-hop into modern dance music. Rising from nightclub circuits in northern England, he gained prominence through viral bootlegs and remixes that shaped UK and international dance floors in the mid-2010s.
His love for music sparked at 13 when he discovered online music platforms, leading his parents to gift him DJ decks for his 15th birthday. By 16 he secured his first residency at Destiny and Elite nightclub in Cheshire Oaks. At 18 he was a fixture in Merseyside's clubs, honing a style that blended house, garage, and urban sounds.

That foundation built everything that came next.
The Records That Build The Career
Hype's breakthrough came with original releases like More Than Friends in 2017 featuring Kelli-Leigh, and You Give Me a Feeling in 2021 with Vintage Culture, but his global hit Ferrari in 2022 featuring Miggy Dela Rosa amassed over one billion streams across platforms, cementing his status in the electronic music scene.
More Than Friends peaked at number 8 in the UK, and number 1 in the UK Dance Chart.
Ferarri was a Top 10 hit in the UK and reached number 1 in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Italy. One billion streams. Number one across three European countries. From a DJ who started warming up rooms in Cheshire Oaks at sixteen years old.

Subsequent releases including Waterfalls in 2025 featuring Sam Harper and Bobby Harvey, and Don't Wake Me Up in March 2025 continued to dominate charts and festival sets, showcasing his signature upbeat vocal-driven sound.
He is also a DJ ambassador for Pioneer DJ featuring in their online videos, and runs his own label Stereohype. The label, the ambassadorship, the catalog, the streaming numbers. James Hype has built an infrastructure around himself that most DJs at his level are still figuring out.

The Nights That Are Going To Go Off
Not every date is created equal. Here are the ones worth booking flights for.
Tomorrowland Belgium is the obvious one. The biggest festival on earth, a house of music lineup that is already stacked, and James Hype on a stage in front of hundreds of thousands of people. That's a career moment happening in real time.
Cavo Paradiso in Mykonos, twice across the summer, is a different animal entirely. Built into the edge of a cliff on a Greek island with the Aegan Sea directly below it, Cavo Paradiso is one of the most visually and sonically overwhelming venues on the planet. Two nights there in one summer means the club world and the festival world are both coming for James Hype at the same time.
Forbidden Forest in Loughborough is the UK homecoming. The crowd is going to know every single record. That energy is different from anything that happens anywhere else on the tour.
Veld Music Festival in Toronto is the big North American movement. Already sitting at 164 RSVPs on Songkick, it's the most anticiapted James Hype show of the year for anyone on that side of of the Atlantic.
And World Club Dome Frantkfurt is the one that will end the European summer on the highest possible note. One of the largest festival experiences in Europe and James Hype closing out the continent before the autumn runs begins..
