Lilly Palmer Signs to Universal Music and Island Berlin
The German techno DJ's first release under her new Universal Music and Island Berlin deal is out now. Her only confirmed Southeast Asia show this year so far was Marquee Singapore, in January.

A Major Label Bet on Techno
Lilly Palmer just went major label. The German techno DJ and producer, born in Nuremberg and raised into the scene through Zurich's clubs before settling in Berlin, has signed with Universal Music Group, Universal Music Germany and Island Berlin. The deal was announced August 26, alongside her first release under it: "Hey You," a peak time techno single out August 28.
She had already been dropping "Hey You" into festival sets over the summer, testing it on crowds before it had a release date. Now it arrives with a major label's distribution and marketing machine behind it, the kind of backing that techno, a genre that has mostly kept its distance from majors, rarely gets. It's the same jump Southeast Asian acts have been chasing from the other direction, like the Davao City trio who turned a mocked local sound into a London record deal.
Marquee Singapore Already Had Her
If the deal puts Lilly Palmer on more radars, Southeast Asia had a head start. She played Marquee Singapore on January 3, a return booking after an earlier date there in February 2025, and it remains her only confirmed Southeast Asian show logged this year. The club has become one of the region's steadier bookers of touring hard techno names, and it's one of the rooms in Loopliner's guide to Singapore's best house and techno clubs.
No new regional dates have been announced alongside the signing. But a bigger label push usually means a bigger tour routing, and Singapore has already shown it will book her.
The Track
"Hey You" is built for a peak time slot, hard-edged techno with a drop that would work as well on a Marquee Singapore Friday as it will on Europe's festival circuit next season. It's a statement single, the sound she chose to introduce herself to a much bigger audience.
Whether that audience translates into more Southeast Asia dates is the open question. For now, the region has one data point, and it already happened.
