Mixmag Asia and Patrón Are Turning a Jakarta Dinner Into a Club Night
Five courses, three tequila pours and a DJ lineup pulled from Jakarta, Bangkok and Bali: The Pursuit debuts at Le Cirque on August 26, the first of a recurring series from Mixmag Asia and Patrón Tequila.

On August 26, the plan in Jakarta looks like this: five courses of Mexican-Indonesian food, three different tequila pours working through the menu, and then straight onto a dancefloor for a set that runs from Indonesian disco to a closer fresh off Berlin's Panorama Bar. Mixmag Asia and Patrón Tequila are calling it The Pursuit, and it's the opening night of a dining-and-club series the two are running across Jakarta into early 2027.

Dinner Is the Warm-Up, Not a Side Event
The night opens at Kilo Jakarta with something called La Familia: a five-course tasting dinner built around Mexican and Indonesian ingredients, each course paired with a different pour from Patrón's range, starting at Patrón Silver and building to El Alto, the brand's newest release, a blend of aged Añejo and Reposado. Also on the table: Patrón XO Cafe, a coffee liqueur made with Arabica sourced from Veracruz. It's by invitation only, which tells you this isn't really about the food, it's the loss leader that gets the right room warmed up before the club portion opens to anyone with a ticket.
Bangkok's Pam Anantr, founder of the listening bar Salon Kiku and one of Mixmag Asia's picks for Artists Exciting Us back in 2024, soundtracks the dinner on vinyl. Ambient, jazz, jazz-funk, "Southeast Asian rare beats," some Latin rhythms worked in for the tequila pairing. That's a set built to be heard over conversation, not danced to, and it's the more interesting booking of the night precisely because it isn't the headline.
Then the Room Changes
Guests move from Kilo to Le Cirque, one of the newer rooms on Jakarta's circuit, built around a Void Acoustics Air Motion rig and already the site of the first Mixmag Lab Jakarta session earlier this year. Diskoria, Jakarta's own disco duo, opens with a live-hybrid set pulled from their catalogue. Pam Anantr carries her set over from the dinner table into something longer and club-facing. Closing it out is Dita, the Bali-based DJ who was on the bill for Dekmantel's Southeast Asia debut at that same venue last week, and who's also played Panorama Bar and Club RAUM in Berlin this year. Three cities, three registers of the same genre, one room.
Why a Tequila Brand Is Booking a Bali DJ
Brand-backed nights aren't new to Jakarta, DWP runs on sponsorship the size of a small festival budget. What's different here is scale and intent: this isn't a 50,000-capacity field, it's a dinner for a couple dozen people feeding into a club night with three DJs, the kind of thing that reads as a genuine attempt to plant a recurring series rather than a one-off activation. Mixmag Asia says the programme runs through early 2027, which means The Pursuit's real test isn't August 26, it's whether edition two books anyone as sharp as Dita or gets lazy with the tequila-brand-showcase format the moment the novelty wears off.
Behind the bar at Le Cirque, three cocktails run the length of the night: a Classic Margarita on Patrón Silver, a Spicy Margarita built on Reposado with a jalapeño kick, and a Paloma with grapefruit and soda for anyone pacing themselves before Dita's closing stretch.

The Kilo Jakarta dinner is invite-only, so don't count on walking in. The club portion at Le Cirque is ticketed through Megatix; neither Mixmag Asia nor Patrón has published a door price as of this writing. Doors for the club set are 10PM. If Jakarta's DWP is the city's big loud festival flex, The Pursuit is the opposite bet: small room, curated lineup, see if anyone remembers it in six months.
