Mochakk: The Brazilian House DJ Taking 2026 by Storm
There are artists who play house music, and then there are artists who genuinely live it. Mochakk belongs firmly in the second category. The Brazilian DJ and producer, whose real name is Pedro Maia, has spent the first months of 2026 cementing his place as one of the most exciting house music acts working anywhere in the world today, and the momentum he is carrying right now shows no signs of slowing down.
Where He Comes From
Mochakk grew up in Sorocaba, Brazil, surrounded by music at home. His mother introduced him to the sounds of new wave, Italo disco, boogie, and funk, while his father leaned toward rock. He later got into hip hop and beatmaking after taking up breakdancing. That mix of influences would eventually become the foundation of everything he does behind the decks.
Growing up immersed in skating and hip hop culture, he began his musical path as a beatmaker before eventually finding his way into electronic music. Once he discovered house music specifically, he became a committed student of the genre, using that knowledge to steadily build a reputation across Brazil as both a producer and a performer.
Emerging from São Paulo, his approach to house music is rooted in punchy basslines, crisp percussion, and crate dug samples, resulting in sets that feel raw, playful, and deeply grooved. His physical connection to music, often dancing and conducting behind the decks, became a signature that audiences responded to instantly and helped his performances find a much wider audience online.
Why House Music
Mochakk has spoken openly about why house music became the center of his artistic world. When asked about how he first discovered dance music, he pointed directly to his mother and her love of 80s electropop, Italo disco, and funk, describing those early listening experiences as a formative entry point into understanding rhythm and groove. That connection to the history and feeling of the music, rather than just its technical elements, is what separates him from many of his contemporaries.
After discovering house music, he committed himself to understanding the genre deeply, and that dedication shaped both his production work and his ability to read and command a room. His sets move between classic house, tech house, Brazilian rhythms, and hip hop influences, creating an experience that is difficult to categorize but immediately recognizable as his own.

2026 Events and Milestones
This year has already delivered some of the most significant bookings of Mochakk's career. He performed at Coachella across both weekends in April, appearing at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California on April 12 and April 19, bringing his genre fluid house sound to one of the biggest festival stages in the world. At Coachella Weekend One, his set on the Sahara Stage was scheduled for the prime 7:25 to 8:25 pm slot, placing him ahead of some of the evening's most anticipated electronic acts.

The Coachella appearances were part of a busy stretch of dates that has taken him across multiple countries in a short space of time. Following Coachella, his tour schedule included a stop at McKelligon Canyon Theatre in El Paso, a performance at Akamba Festival in Guadalajara, a billed show with Maceo Plex in Brasilia, and an appearance at Time Warp São Paulo, with further dates at Club Space in Miami and Lightning in a Bottle in California also confirmed.
His festival calendar for later in 2026 also includes Kappa FuturFestival in Turin in July and Love Family Park Festival in Frankfurt, reflecting the kind of international reach that only a handful of house music artists at his level can sustain.
Building Something Bigger
Beyond the festival circuit, Mochakk has been building infrastructure around his music in a way that reflects a genuine long term vision for house culture. He has hosted his own Mochakk Calling events in cities including São Paulo, Miami, Lisbon, and New York, and regularly performs at Circoloco in Ibiza, one of the most respected venues in the underground house and techno world.

His following has grown to over 3.5 million across social media platforms, and he has performed at more than 160 shows across 29 countries. A sold out Cercle performance at the Plaza de España in Seville, which drew 5,000 attendees, stands as one of the landmark moments of his live career.
He also opened his own venue, OBLIQO, in his hometown of Sorocaba, with the explicit intention of creating a space where local Brazilian talent could share bills with international artists and grow as part of a connected global scene. For a DJ at his level of international demand, that kind of investment in the local community says a great deal about where his priorities lie.

In 2026, Mochakk is not simply having a good year. He is making a case for house music as one of the most vital and cross cultural forces in contemporary music, and doing it on his own terms.
