Nakadia Joins EDC Thailand's Stacked Phase 2 Lineup for December

A Farmer's Daughter Turned Global Techno Star

Nakadia is going home. Born Seephrai Mungphanklang in rural Nakhon Ratchasima province and raised without electricity or running water, the Thai producer built one of dance music's most improbable careers, and now she is playing her own country's biggest festival. EDC Thailand has added her to its Phase 2 lineup for the December 18-20 edition at Rhythm Park, Laguna Phuket, confirmed this week on the festival's official lineup artwork.

She was not on the original bill. Loopliner's June coverage of EDC Thailand's first wave, when Insomniac Events confirmed the shift from January to December and unveiled the Charlotte de Witte-anchored neonGARDEN stage, did not include her name. The Phase 2 update fixes that, slotting her in alongside major additions like Kaskade, Tiesto, DJ Snake, Vintage Culture and Sofi Tukker, plus a wider push of Thai and regional talent, including Genji, Kamiko, Jaidee, Ekanan and Thanac.

Decades Before the Headline

The booking is not a debut, it is a return. Nakadia left factory work and an internet cafe job behind after a chance introduction to electronic music in 2003, then built a catalog on Carl Cox's Intec alongside releases through Filth on Acid, Set About and Codex. Within her first two decades on the road she had played more than 1,600 shows across 76 countries, from Ushuaia Ibiza to Tomorrowland, all while carrying the techno queen tag the Thai press gave her. She is based in Berlin now, but Phuket in December puts her back on a stage built in the country she grew up in.

A Bigger Stage at Home

That is the real story behind the name. Southeast Asia's festival circuit has spent years importing headliners, and EDC Thailand's third edition is still doing plenty of that, from Martin Garrix to Above & Beyond. But the Phase 2 wave also makes room for the region's own, pairing global A-listers with acts like Genji and Kamiko on stages built around local talent. It is the same instinct behind GUDFELLA's booking, announced earlier this year for a Cebu-born artist making his festival debut. Nakadia's slot sits at the other end of that same idea: a Thai artist who built her name entirely outside Thailand, coming back to a festival that is finally building a lineup wide enough to hold her.

EDC Thailand 2026 runs December 18-20 at Rhythm Park, Laguna Phuket, about 25 minutes from Phuket International Airport. Hotel EDC returns to Angsana Laguna Phuket for a second year, and 3-Day GA passes currently start from 7,090 THB.
