Ask anyone who has been to Defected Croatia what it is like and watch what happens to their face. They will pause. They will try to find the right words. And then they will probably just say you have to go. Ten years of that reaction ends this July at The Garden Resort in Tisno and the One Last Dance lineup is the most honest goodbye a house music festival has ever put together.

Ten years on the Adriatic
Since the first edition in 2016, Defected Croatia built a reputation as the house music festival that felt completely different from every other European summer event. The Garden Resort at Tisno is not a purpose-built festival site. It's a natural amphitheatre of pine trees and stone terraces dropping down to the Adriatic, with a beach, a boat party jetty, and a dance floor that sits right at the water's edge. Across the beloved three stages at The Garden, boat parties and official afterparties at iconic discotheque Barbarella's, pioneers of the house and electronic scene join rising artists for what is sure to be one of the most memorable editions in the festival's history.
The combination of that setting with Defected's house music curation is what turned this into something that people planned their entire summer holidays around. It's not the biggest festival. It's the one that people who know exactly what they want from a house music festival keep coming back to year after year.
The names on this final lineup are doing a lot of talking
The lineup includes artists playing for the very first time including Seth Troxler, DJ EZ, Krystal Klear, Joella Jackson, Jeremy Sylvester, Jonas Blue, Laidlaw and Gerd Janson, while the lineup also profiles future stars of the genre like 2FOX, Ella Knight, Lev, MiNNA, Isaac Carter and L.P. Rhythm.
They will be joined by artists from the first ever Defected Croatia in 2016 such as Dennis Ferrer, Sam Divine, and Purple Disco Machine, culminating in a full circle moment for the festival's decade-long tenure. David Rodigan MBE will also return to Tisno in August. Other fan favorites returning for One Last Dance include Floorplan. Moodymann, Jayda G, TSHA, and Horse Meat Disco.
That combination of people who have been there since the beginning and people making their debut at the final edition is not accidental. It's deliberate act of telling te whole story of what Defected Croatia has been in a single weekend. Dennis Ferrer and Sam Divine who were there in 2016. Seth Troxler and Gerd Janson making their first appearance in year ten. Moodymann on a Croatian beach in July. There is no version of that lineup that doesn't deliver something extraordinary.
Why this ending feels right
Defected CEO Wez Saunders said Croatia 2026 marks their final edition in Tisno, and they are closing this chapter with intention. The program pairs iconic pioneers with an exciting wave of debuts, reflecting both the festival's history and its future. House music has always evolved through new voices, and this lineup embodies that spirit.
Closing with intention. That phrase is doing a lot of work and it's exactly right. Too many festivals either run past their natural ending or disappear quietly without giving their audience a chance to say goodbye properly. Defected Croatia is doing neither. One Last Dance is a farewell that respects everyone who was part of the decade. The artists who came every year. The 5000 people who planned their summers around a Croatian beach. The music that made it worth doing in the first place.
New stage takeovers from London club giants Modern Funktion offer a new layer of program to the event, while newcomer soulful house collective In The Loop highlights how Defected supports young talent within its label team. Even in the final edition they are making room for the next generation. That is the most Defected thing they could have done.
