Pattaya's Clubs: World House and Republic Made DJ Mag's Top 100, and Club Insomnia Is Where the House and Techno Actually Plays

Pattaya has a reputation built on Walking Street's beer bars and go-go clubs. It also has two venues on DJ Mag's 2026 Top 100, and one room that actually plays house and techno.

Pattaya's reputation precedes it: a kilometre of neon on Walking Street, beer bars stacked three deep, a nightlife economy that runs on go-go clubs more than DJ booths. None of that explains why DJ Mag put two Pattaya venues on its Top 100 Clubs list for 2026.

World House Pattaya and Republic Club Pattaya both made the cut, part of what our own count of the 2026 list found was a record eight Thai clubs, more than any other country in Asia. Neither one is a house or techno room in the strict sense: both lean big-room EDM and trance. For that sound, you want Club Insomnia, a few minutes away on Walking Street itself, which has been running what it calls "bass-fuelled house and techno" every night of the week.

Two Clubs, One DJ Mag List

According to the venue's own site, World House opened on Pattaya 3rd Road in July 2024 with a soft launch built around DJ Justin Mylo, and it's big: 1,500 capacity across 150 tables, a 1,000 square metre main room under an 18 metre ceiling, a Funktion-One rig, an LED wall and an automated ceiling rig. It's open nightly from 21:00 to 04:00. Bookings run through big-room EDM and trance names like KAAZE, Quintino, Brennan Heart, Will Sparks, Deniz Koyu and Mike Williams. It entered DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs for 2026, though outlets covering the list don't agree closely enough on Pattaya's second entry to print an exact rank here with confidence, the same caveat we flagged in our own count of the full list.

Republic Club, just off Walking Street at 131/4 Soi JP, is smaller, and according to DJ Mag's own 2026 rankings the position is solid: #82, up from #90 in 2025. It holds 700 people across two levels, runs a d&b audiotechnik system, and books resident DJs Karate, Me2 and JoWaves across weekly themed nights (Rave Republic, Afro Republic, Sugar Republic, Seduction Republic) that cover EDM, house, trance, hip-hop, R&B and Afro sounds rather than sitting in one lane. Past touring names include Vini Vici, R3HAB and Jax Jones. Most nights are free to enter; VIP tables start at a 5,000 baht minimum spend, something over 140 US dollars.

Where the House and Techno Actually Plays

Club Insomnia sits on the second floor of a Walking Street building, open bar downstairs, dancefloor up top, open 22:00 to 04:00 every night of the week. Entry is free all night, drinks run 150 to 200 baht, and happy hour between 10pm and midnight cuts that in half. The room is smaller and rougher around the edges than World House or Republic, no VIP mezzanine, no LED wall, just lasers sweeping low over a crowd that, by most accounts, fills the place seven nights a week. It hasn't shown up on DJ Mag's radar and it isn't trying to. What it has that the other two don't is a genre identity: house and techno, played as the main event rather than one ingredient in an EDM set.

Getting In: Age, Dress Code and Cost

Thailand's Entertainment Places Act sets the minimum clubbing age at 20 nationwide, with ID checked at entry. It's a national rule rather than a house policy, so expect it at World House, Republic and Insomnia alike even where a venue doesn't spell it out online. World House and Republic both expect smart-casual: no flip-flops, no sleeveless tops, no beach shorts, standard for Thailand's bigger rooms. Insomnia enforces no dress code at all. World House and Republic are usually free to enter, with Republic's VIP tables starting at a 5,000 baht minimum spend; Insomnia doesn't charge a cover either.

What's Not on This List

The go-go bars and cabaret venues that make up most of Walking Street, including the long-running Alcazar Cabaret, are a different business entirely and outside what this site covers. If a dedicated house or techno room beyond Insomnia surfaces with real bookings, it's worth a second look.

If You Go

Pattaya sits roughly 100km southeast of Bangkok, a drive of two to three hours depending on traffic, with regular buses and shared vans running from Bangkok's Ekkamai and Mo Chit terminals as well as direct options from both Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports. World House, Republic Club and Club Insomnia are all within a short walk or cheap tuk-tuk ride of each other around 3rd Road and Walking Street. With every venue here closing at 4am, a taxi or Grab back to your hotel is the easier call than trying to time the last bus out.

FAQ

Does Pattaya have a real house and techno scene?

Not much of one. Its two DJ Mag-ranked clubs, World House and Republic, both play mostly big-room EDM and trance. Club Insomnia on Walking Street is the one room that runs house and techno as its actual format rather than an occasional detour.

What time do Pattaya's clubs close?

World House, Republic Club and Club Insomnia all post closing times of 04:00. World House and Insomnia open at 21:00 and 22:00 respectively; Republic opens at 22:00.

How much does a night out cost in Pattaya's clubs?

World House and Republic are usually free to enter, with Republic's VIP tables starting at a 5,000 baht minimum spend. Club Insomnia charges no entry fee, and drinks run 150 to 200 baht, half that during its 10pm to midnight happy hour.

Is there a dress code?

World House and Republic Club both expect smart-casual: no flip-flops, sleeveless tops or beach shorts. Club Insomnia enforces no dress code.

How old do you have to be to get into a Pattaya nightclub?

20, under Thailand's Entertainment Places Act, which applies nationwide. Bring a passport or photo ID for the door.
