Amsterdam's Young Marco Plays Bali's La Brisa for Halloween With PNNY

Young Marco is playing on the beach in Canggu, Bali. The event, titled La Brisa Halloween x Basement Love x PNNY featuring Young Marco, has him on the bill at La Brisa alongside PNNY. Doors open Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 9PM and run to 3AM, with tickets at IDR200,000.

Who's Young Marco

Young Marco is a figure in Amsterdam's music scene. He's been making music since he was 12, on old Ataris, Commodores and early Macs, and played in bands too, though that "wasn't about making people dance."

When he moved to Amsterdam, his first studio was on the sixth floor of a building that housed Club 11 on the eleventh; he designed flyers and visuals for the club and landed some of his first gigs there. He later held residencies at Trouw and De School, and compiled archival reissues for Rush Hour before launching his own label. His studio also sat above Red Light Records, in the same building as Red Light Radio.

He founded his label Safe Trip in 2015, originally to release a remix compilation of his own. It now blends reissues of classics, like early Italian house, with new releases, including three albums from Satoshi & Makoto, a duo he discovered while searching for a synthesizer tutorial online. He also records as Dead Sound with John Moods, a psychedelic, non-club project the two wrote and tracked in four days, working through themes of loss, breakups and even death.

Safe Trip stretches past records too, into jackets and bandanas, what Marco calls "a platform for anything I feel inspired to create."

He still guides the label's visual direction, drawing on 90s skateboard brands like Alien Workshop and their pseudo-scientific, occult look, and on record-label artwork from the same decade. During Amsterdam Dance Event he throws his own party, the Self-Grill.

He's been part of Boiler Room's showcase at Dekmantel, and has appeared at BR Towers close to ten times. Boiler Room has called him "a challenging selector with a gifted ear" who packs "bargain-bin oddities, rare electro, Bollywood disco" into the same set, and named him a celebrant of "Holland's hidden gems and slept-on crates," the kind of selector whose power to surprise, it wrote, "has made his dudeness one of Amsterdam's finest."
