Argy Brings Melodic Techno to Zouk Singapore for F1 Race Weekend
The Greek producer behind "Tataki" and "Sierra" headlines Zouk's Mainroom on October 9, the Friday of Singapore's F1 weekend, as The Circuit series pairs the Grand Prix with a serious techno booking for once.

Every October, Singapore turns its Formula 1 weekend into three days of pop and hip-hop headliners, five-figure hospitality packages and, most years, DJ bookings that could have played literally any tourist night anywhere. This year Zouk did something different: it booked Argy.
A Real Techno Name on a Tourist Weekend
The Greek producer, real name Argyris Theofilis, plays Zouk's Mainroom on Friday, October 9, the same night practice sessions wrap up at Marina Bay ahead of the Grand Prix on October 11. It's the opening night of The Circuit, Zouk's recurring race-weekend series, and Zouk's own promotional line for the booking gets straight to the point: "Race Weekend shifts into a darker gear as Argy takes control of the Mainroom."
That's not empty copy. Argy has spent the last three years building one of the more distinctive rooms in melodic techno, a sound that leans hypnotic and mid-tempo rather than the trance-adjacent uplift the subgenre often collapses into. "Tataki," his 2022 breakout, has passed 32 million streams on Spotify alone. "Sierra" and "Aria" followed the same formula: long builds, minimal drops, the kind of tracks that work as well at 2 AM as at a festival mainstage. He's also become a regular collaborator of Anyma and MEDUZA, two names that have done more than almost anyone to drag melodic techno onto arena stages.
Why Zouk, Why Now
Zouk has been leaning harder into this lane all year. The club doubled its dancefloor for its 35th birthday back in August, merging rooms to handle bigger crowds and bigger sound systems, and its race-weekend programming has historically swung between EDM mainstage names and, occasionally, someone who'd actually get booked by a room that cares about what's happening after the drop. Argy splits the difference: he has the streaming numbers to fill a room that's selling F1-weekend tourists on a night out, and the production chops that a Singapore techno regular would actually want to hear.
It also lands in a busy month for the venue and the city's calendar generally. Sara Landry hit Kuala Lumpur and Singapore back to back at the start of September, and Dom Dolla just confirmed his own Singapore debut for later this year. Add Argy's date and the city's F1 weekend, usually an excuse for velvet ropes and bottle service, starts looking like an actual electronic music weekend instead of a tourism add-on with a DJ booth attached.

Doors open at 10 PM on October 9 at Zouk, 3C River Valley Road, a short walk from Fort Canning MRT. Ticket pricing wasn't listed on Zouk's event page at time of writing; expect race-weekend premiums given the venue's history of surge pricing during the Grand Prix. Get there before midnight if you want to be on the floor for the room's full set, not queuing behind F1 hospitality guests still finding their bearings after a day at the track.
