Bangkok's Hotel Pools Run a House Music Circuit Almost Every Saturday of the Month
SO, amBar and the Westin turn their rooftop pools into house-music parties almost every Saturday, a monthly circuit no other city in Southeast Asia matches.
Pick almost any Saturday in Bangkok and a hotel rooftop somewhere in the city is mid-transformation: sun loungers pushed back, a DJ booth wheeled out, a pool that was empty at noon filling with a few hundred people by 4pm. amBar and W Bangkok split the first Saturday, the Westin takes the third, and SO closes out the last one. Nowhere else in Southeast Asia runs anything close to a weekly circuit of house-music pool parties, and the gap between Bangkok and everywhere else is bigger than you'd expect.
SO Pool Party Is the One Everyone Means
Ask anyone who's been to a Bangkok pool party which one to go to and they'll say SO. SO Pool Party, on the 10th floor of SO/ Bangkok (the Sofitel on North Sathon Road, Bang Rak), runs on the last Saturday of every month from 1pm to 9pm. Entry is 600 baht and includes a drink, cheaper if you buy early. The pool itself looks out over Lumpini Park, which means you're partying with actual green space instead of another tower in your sightline. Themes vary by season, one December's edition was a Chandon sparkling wine toast to the new year. As the afternoon turns to evening, a proper dance floor forms at the pool's edge and the thing stops being a pool with music and starts being a club that happens to have water in it.

amBar and the First-Saturday Rivalry
The first Saturday of the month belongs to two competing parties. amBar, on the rooftop of the Four Points by Sheraton on Sukhumvit Soi 15, runs 2pm to 8pm under a red neon arch installation that frames the pool and makes for the best photo of any Bangkok pool party, full stop. Tickets run around 250 baht including a drink, with VIP tables from 2,300 baht. Across town, W Bangkok's Beats by the Pool also runs the first Saturday, from 2pm to 9pm. Tickets run about 700 baht on MEGATix, with cheaper presale tickets. The existence of two competing house-music pool parties on the same day tells you there's more demand here than one hotel alone can absorb.
The third Saturday is the Westin Grande Sukhumvit's turn: 1pm to 9pm, a 227-square-metre pool. Entry costs 400 baht including a drink, with VIP packages from 4,500 baht. That's three different hotels, two different Saturdays, all running the same basic format: afternoon pool session that tips into an evening DJ set.

What Doesn't Fit the House Circuit
Not every Bangkok pool event belongs on this list. Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit's Splash Pool Party takes the second Saturday, which technically fills the one remaining gap in the month, but it leans hip-hop, not house, so it's a different crowd and a different sound. Amari Watergate's Oasis Fest only runs quarterly, built around beer pong and a barbecue rather than a DJ lineup. And Compass Skyview Hotel's Famous Pool Party exists too, but like Oasis Fest it only runs quarterly rather than monthly. Count only the three that are actually about the music, SO, amBar and the Westin, and Bangkok still runs something no other city in the region has: a house-music pool party on three out of four Saturdays, month after month.
Singapore Does It Occasionally, Not Monthly
W Singapore Sentosa Cove's WET Deck has hosted pool takeovers under a rotating cast of names since at least 2015, when it ran a series called Shockwave with DJs flown in from the US and UK. The most recent edition found was a weekend of parties held October 24 to 26, 2025, with an all-female DJ lineup at Saturday's Sunchasers session and a Sunday pool party called Soundwave curated by W's own in-house music curators from Bali, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. That's a real, dated, verifiable event, just not a monthly one. Singapore's hotel pool parties are occasional headline weekends rather than an institution, which is a different product from what Bangkok runs every month.
Bali's Savaya Plays a Different Game Entirely
Bali had its own version of a glamorous pool dayclub in Omnia, the clifftop Uluwatu venue that opened in 2018. It closed in 2020 when the pandemic gutted Bali's tourism industry, and the same physical site and cube structure, pool included, reopened in December 2020 under a new name: Savaya. Savaya runs as a full day-into-night club that books international headliners like Carl Cox and cracked DJ Mag's global top five this year, a different product from a hotel running a monthly house afternoon for a few hundred guests. If you want a Bali pool day with a serious lineup, Savaya is the one to book. If you want the Bangkok format, a casual afternoon circuit anyone can walk into, Bali doesn't have an equivalent.
The Gaps: Vietnam, KL, Jakarta and Manila
Ho Chi Minh City had a genuine contender in Saigon Soul Pool Party, a Saturday house night at the New World Saigon Hotel that ran from late November through June, drew crowds over 600 and charged 150,000 VND at the door. Recent confirmation is hard to find. Treat it as historical rather than current until someone verifies it's still running. Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and Manila turned up no recurring house-music pool party at all. If one exists in any of those cities, it isn't findable through official channels or event listings, which is itself the point: Bangkok's circuit isn't just the best in the region, it's close to the only one.
If You Go
Book ahead for SO and amBar when there's a sponsor theme attached, those sell out the fastest. Bring cash in small bills, poolside bars don't always run cards smoothly. None of these parties include a hotel stay, so work out your way home before you start drinking; Bangkok's clubs and late-night transport options are covered in our own guide to the city's closing times. Dress code is swimwear, nobody is checking sneakers at the door of a pool party.
FAQ
Which is the best pool party in Bangkok?
SO Pool Party, on the last Saturday of the month at SO/ Bangkok, is the one most consistently described as the city's best, thanks to its Lumpini Park views, underwater speakers and the dance floor that forms as the afternoon turns into evening.
How much do Bangkok pool parties cost?
It depends on the venue, see the price for each party above. At amBar, VIP table packages run from 2,300 to 6,900 baht.
Does Bali or Singapore have anything like Bangkok's pool party circuit?
Not really. Singapore's W Hotel runs occasional headline pool weekends rather than a monthly series, and Bali's Savaya (formerly Omnia) runs as a full international club with day-into-night headliners rather than a casual hotel pool afternoon.
Is Saigon Soul Pool Party in Ho Chi Minh City still running?
Unconfirmed. Recent confirmation is hard to find, so treat it as historical rather than a currently active party.
What should I wear and bring to a Bangkok pool party?
Swimwear is the dress code, and cash in small bills is worth carrying since poolside bars don't always process cards smoothly.
