Nine years ago, More Rice Records launched in Bangkok on a mission to make underground dance music as much a staple as rice itself. On October 31, that label, More Rice Records, takes over the 44th floor of a Silom tower for its ninth-anniversary party.
Dates: Friday October 30 (Beatforest) and Saturday October 31 (More Rice 9th Anniversary), 5PM to 2AM Venue: Æther BKK, 44th floor, 92 Central Park Offices Building, Rama IV Road, Silom, Bangkok Tickets: Via Megatix
Seven DJs, one night, 44 floors up
Æther is a rooftop venue that only opened in December 2025, built around two sculptural speaker towers on top of the new Dusit Central Park development. It's a two-night Halloween takeover split between two Bangkok crews: Friday belongs to Beatforest, with Miranda, Bunnyman, Ciriya and Pam Anantr. Saturday is all More Rice, and the label is sending seven DJs, not a token name or two: Sarayu, DOTT, Wildealer, Meltmode, Ouissam, Bagvs and Ayon, closer to a label showcase than a guest slot.

Nine years of refusing to wait for anyone else
More Rice Records launched in 2017, founded by Sarayu Sriyuksiri, Pakarapol "DOTT" Anantakritayathorn and Mikhail Schemm as a vinyl-only outlet at a time when almost nothing coming out of Bangkok's house and techno scene made it to wax. They pressed vinyl from the start, with manufacturing done in Germany. They opened a physical record store in Bangkok in 2021.

Sarayu has watched the wider scene change around the label, too. "Bangkok's nightlife scene has become much tighter as a whole, we're supporting each other and working towards the same goal, which is great to see," Sarayu told City Nomads. "I feel like Asia / South-East Asia as a whole has become much closer, with everyone reaching out to each other a lot more." A seven-DJ anniversary lineup is a decent snapshot of what that closeness actually looks like in practice, not just a quote.
Loopliner's own roundup of Southeast Asian labels worth knowing paired it with Darker Than Wax, House Cartel, Twelve Points and RAMPAK G. It also covered the label's own DZ's Work EP. Saturday's lineup plays on a rooftop that opened in December 2025.
