BLAK's Second Edition Brought 999999999 and Fatima Hajji to a Kuala Lumpur Arena

999999999 and Fatima Hajji headlined BLAK's second Kuala Lumpur edition at Xox Arena on October 3, Evolution Events Asia's hard techno night that drew roughly 5,500 people to its first run last November.

Seven Hours, One Genre

On Saturday, October 3, Kuala Lumpur's Xox Arena handed over five in the afternoon until midnight to one sound only. No crossover sets, no house warm-up. This was the second Kuala Lumpur edition of BLAK, the hard techno night Evolution Events Asia built specifically to argue that Malaysia can carry the heaviest end of the region's techno calendar, and the promoter called this booking its "biggest, darkest lineup yet." Mixmag Asia described the series at launch as a festival concept that "unites the harder sounds of electronic music and cutting-edge production under one roof," and the event page for this edition kept the promise short: "No light. No limits. Just pure energy."

Date: October 3, 2026, 5pm to midnight Venue: Xox Arena, The Arch Galleries, Kuala Lumpur Lineup: 999999999, Fatima Hajji, AZYR, Joshua Dillon, KLOFAMA, NIKOLINA

Who Played

999999999 headlined. The Italian duo don't really DJ so much as operate: a hardware-only live rig with no laptop and no safety net, built for rooms that can take kick drums and acid lines stripped all the way down. They've run that same rig at Awakenings and at Boiler Room's Paris: Possession session, and Kuala Lumpur got the full version.

Alongside them, Fatima Hajji, the Spanish DJ, producer and label owner behind SILVER M, who builds her sets out of deep African-rooted percussion run through analogue and classical techno sounds, pushed toward contemporary techno-house. SILVER M has thrown parties in Ibiza, Amsterdam and Barcelona, and Xox Arena gave that sound a very different room to work in. The contrast between her tribal low end and 999999999's hardware noise looks like the actual booking logic, not an accident. AZYR, Joshua Dillon, KLOFAMA and NIKOLINA filled out the rest of a six-act bill.

999999999's hardware-only live set at Boiler Room Paris: Possession, the same stripped-down format they brought to Xox Arena.

A Fixture, Not a One-Off

Loopliner reported the booking when it was first announced in August, back when 999999999 was the only confirmed name. The full support bill, and KLOFAMA's and NIKOLINA's spots on it, wasn't locked until closer to the date.

BLAK's first Kuala Lumpur edition ran November 21, 2025, at Mega Star Arena, built around Alignment, Anderex, Anxhela and a run of back-to-back sets, and Evolution Events Asia put the attendance at roughly 5,500. Malaysia's techno scene has spent years importing house names and festival headliners picked for broad crowds. BLAK runs the opposite bet: one genre, no crossover audience, and a promoter confident enough in that math to book a second night inside a year.
