Southeast Asia's House and Techno Festival Calendar: 2026 into 2027
Between December 3 and December 20, three of the region's biggest electronic festivals go off in three different countries. Here's the whole year, mapped out with actual dates and prices.
In the seventeen days between December 3 and December 20, 2026, four of Southeast Asia's biggest electronic festivals go off in three different countries. Wonderfruit opens the run in a cow pasture outside Pattaya. DWP takes over an expo hall in Jakarta a week later. The biggest new entry on this calendar, and the one that makes December genuinely difficult. Tomorrowland brings its first ever Asian edition to a 237-acre site in Chonburi on exactly the same weekend as DWP, aiming for more than 50,000 people a day across six stages, including the Mainstage and the first Asian outings for CORE and FREEDOM. CORE is the reason it belongs in a house and techno calendar rather than an EDM one: it is where Tomorrowland puts its underground bookings. No lineup at the time of writing. If you are picking between this and DWP, understand what you are choosing: a Belgian production template dropped into Thailand, against the region's own biggest festival with a deep Indonesian undercard. They are three flying hours apart and there is no version of that weekend where you do both.
Tomorrowland lands its first Asian edition on that same Jakarta weekend, an hour down the coast from Wonderfruit. EDC Thailand closes it out on a stretch of Phuket coastline seven days after that. If you're trying to plan a season around this region's festival circuit, that's the first thing to understand: it isn't evenly spread across the calendar. It's lopsided, it clusters hard at the end of the year, and outside that window you're mostly working with one-off dates that don't repeat on a predictable schedule.
This is the actual shape of the year, built from festival organizers' own sites and ticketing pages rather than the recycled listicles that dominate the first page of Google. Where a date isn't confirmed yet, we say so instead of guessing.
December Is Where It All Happens
Four festivals, seventeen days, three countries, and two of them on the same weekend. It's not a coincidence so much as a function of weather: December sits in the middle of dry season across Thailand and Indonesia, which is exactly when outdoor festival production gets easy and flights get expensive.

Wonderfruit isn't a house and techno festival in the way the other two are. It's an arts-and-sustainability gathering that happens to book serious electronic talent across a dozen stages, alongside food, wellness programming and art installations built specifically for the site. As of this writing the main 5-Day and Weekend passes are still listed as "coming soon" on the official site, though two smaller options are already bookable: an Intro Pass (a single 24-hour entry for first-timers, THB 4,500) and a Youth Pass (five days, ages 20-24 only, THB 3,900). If you want the full pass, you'll need to keep checking back, or expect a presale announcement closer to the date.

DWP is the region's biggest single dance music event by attendance, and it plays more mainstream than either Wonderfruit or KAJE: think Galantis-scale pop-dance headliners alongside a genuinely deep undercard of Indonesian house and techno talent like Dipha Barus. We covered DWP's first lineup wave and full ticket tiers when it dropped, GA runs from IDR 1.7 million for early entry, VIP from IDR 3.9 million. If you're coming from outside Indonesia, budget extra time for visa logistics and don't expect much sleep between this and Phuket a week later.

This is Insomniac's third Thailand edition and the self-declared "global grand finale" of EDC's 30th anniversary year, which means expect fireworks, literally. It's the most mainstage-heavy of the three, kineticFIELD pyro shows, giant stage production, that scale of thing, but the neonGARDEN stage is where the house and techno actually lives: first-wave names include Charlotte de Witte, I Hate Models, VTSS, Boys Noize, Jamie Jones and Loco Dice. Three-day GA runs ฿10,490, VIP ฿16,490, with a hotel package option through Angsana Laguna Phuket if you don't want to deal with Phuket traffic at 4am. Doing all three back to back is a real option people attempt, and it's brutal. Pattaya to Jakarta is a short flight but usually routes through Bangkok or Singapore rather than direct. Jakarta to Phuket has even fewer direct options. Build in a full recovery day between each leg or you'll spend EDC Thailand's neonGARDEN set asleep on your feet.
September's Outlier: KAJE Bali

KAJE sits well outside the December cluster and does something none of the big three do: it books an entirely Asian lineup, no international headliner bait. Blackout Agency's debut brought together Dekadenz from Jakarta, Sunju Hargun from Bangkok, Ouissam from Hanoi and a stacked Indonesian bill running ambient and disco by day into house and techno after dark. The Shoulder Season: April and June, Already Gone This Year
If you're reading this in the second half of 2026, two of the region's more distinctive dates have already passed for this cycle, worth flagging so you don't miss them next time around.
Equation Festival ran April 3-6 in Mai Chau, Vietnam, with its main stage built inside the Mỏ Luông limestone cave and a second stage, The Garden, by a lakeside in the valley. It's been an annual spring fixture in northern Vietnam and there's no reason to expect it won't return, but the festival hadn't announced 2027 dates as of this writing, so don't book flights off a guess.
Sunset by NEON brought ARTBAT's UPPERGROUND concept to Resorts World Awana in Genting Highlands, Malaysia, on June 20, an open-air set above the cloud line. The promoter has run Genting Highlands editions in consecutive years now, so a 2027 date is a reasonable bet, just not yet a confirmed one.
What's Still Missing From This List
A few honest gaps. ZoukOut, Singapore's dusk-till-dawn beach festival on Sentosa's Siloso Beach, is expected back in December 2026, but at the time of writing Zouk Group's own site hadn't posted exact dates, a lineup, or ticket prices for this edition. Treat anything you see claiming otherwise as unconfirmed until the official channel says it.
Epizode is the other name worth watching. The eleven-day, round-the-clock techno festival on Phu Quoc's western beaches in Vietnam has run over New Year since 2017, and on form it is the most serious underground booking of the whole regional year. We have left it out of the dated entries above because the organisers had not published confirmed 2026 into 2027 dates at the time of writing. Assume late December into early January and watch their channels.
The bigger gap is the Philippines. Manila has &FRIENDS Festival, a genuinely large indoor event at Okada Manila with a June date and a EDM-mainstage lineup (Galantis, Porter Robinson, Subtronics), but nothing at that scale built specifically around house and techno the way KAJE is for Indonesia or Bagus Agro is for Bali. Manila's house and techno scene is real and growing, we've covered Filipino producers landing releases on European labels, it just hasn't produced its own flagship festival yet. That's a gap someone's going to fill eventually. Nobody has yet.
How To Actually Plan Around This
A few things worth knowing before you book anything:
Prices quoted in local currency swing hard against the dollar depending on when you book, DWP and EDC Thailand both raise their tiers as dates approach, so early tickets really are cheaper, not just a sales tactic. Weather matters more than the festivals' own marketing lets on: outdoor stages in Chonburi and Phuket in December sit comfortably in dry season, while Jakarta in December is deep in wet season. Pack a poncho for DWP and don't wear anything you'd mind losing to mud.
And don't underestimate the cost of stacking festivals back to back. Flights between Bangkok, Jakarta and Phuket rarely go direct, hotel prices spike hard during festival weekends in all three cities, and by the third night of the run you'll understand why most people pick one festival a year instead of chasing all three.
