White Party Bangkok Just Became the First LGBTQ+ Festival on DJ Mag's Top 100
White Party Bangkok has voted its way into DJ Mag's Top 100 Festivals at No. 73, the first dedicated LGBTQ+ event ever to make the list. Its 10th anniversary runs Paragon Hall this New Year.

No dance festival built entirely around a queer New Year's crowd had ever made DJ Mag's Top 100 Festivals poll. Then White Party Bangkok did.
The fan-voted list, published by DJ Mag in July, put Thailand's biggest gay New Year event at No. 73, tagged plainly as "the first LGBTQ+ festival to be voted by fans into DJ Mag's Top 100 Festivals." It's a small number on a long list, but it's a number that has never existed before. Sunburn in India ranked as the highest-placing festival from anywhere in Asia; White Party Bangkok's entry made Thailand the Asian country with the most festivals on the board, again, alongside its usual haul of DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs entries.
What the ranking is actually rewarding
White Party Bangkok isn't a house and techno festival in the way Wonderfruit or a Dekmantel edition is. It runs on circuit-party production values, big-room names and a pool-to-podium format built for a crowd that's there to be seen as much as to hear a set. Past editions have booked MORTEN and Fedde Le Grand rather than anyone your average Bandcamp digger would recognize. That's exactly why the DJ Mag entry matters as a cultural marker more than a musical one: fan votes put a gay dance event on the same table as Tomorrowland and Untold, something that simply hadn't happened before, in Asia or anywhere else.
Ten years in, bigger than ever
The event turns 10 this edition, running December 29, 2026 through January 3, 2027 across Bangkok, with four night parties anchored at Paragon Hall plus two standalone add-ons, the Jock Ball pool party and the Beef Ball closing party. The organizers' own numbers put the crowd at more than 40,000 people from over 130 countries, a jump from the roughly 30,000-from-90-countries figure DJ Mag cited when the ranking went live, evidence of how fast the thing has grown even within a single year. A GA or VIP "All Night Parties" pass covers all four Paragon Hall nights; the pool and closing parties sell separately. Tickets are live now through Eventpop. The actual party program, meaning which DJs play which night, isn't out yet: White Party Bangkok says that drops in September.
Why it's not a footnote
Bangkok's club scene gets covered here for what happens after dark in RCA and Silom, mostly through a house and techno lens. White Party Bangkok sits outside that lens entirely, and that's the point. It's the loudest, longest-running proof that Bangkok's queer nightlife economy operates at a scale most of the city's underground promoters can only imagine, four full nights at one of the city's biggest event halls, sold out corners of the internet, hotels block-booked months ahead. A fan-voted industry poll just noticed. Whether the actual lineup, once it lands in September, gives house and techno heads a reason to buy a pass is still an open question. The recognition doesn't need that answer to matter.
