Apotheka sits one floor below a rooftop bar called Ugly Duck, in a Poblacion building most people walk past without noticing. Inside, it runs two rooms with separate lineups on the same night, each drawing its own crowd, and its founder still DJs his own parties there under his producer alias, obese.dogma777.

Where: White Rabbit Building, 5672 Doña Carmen Street corner General Luna Street, Poblacion, Makati City Open: Nights vary by event; exact doors and lineups are posted on Instagram and HelixPay Entry: Varies by night, typically ₱550 to ₱800 presale or door, drink included Music: Eclectic by design: techno and house alongside hip hop, trap, afrobeat, R&B and baile funk, with a strong queer-party calendar Tickets: apotheka.helixpay.ph

The room

Apotheka runs two spaces under one roof: the Main Room and a smaller adjoining space called the Elbow Room, which can run its own lineup alongside the main floor on the same night. Across both levels the venue holds around 300 people, plus a private room that doubles as an auxiliary stage for bigger nights. The production leans theatrical rather than minimal: sound-responsive lighting, projection mapping across the walls and ceiling, and theme nights that have turned the main floor into everything from an underwater jellyfish installation to a tricycle sound-system takeover.

That's not incidental. Jorge Wieneke, who opened Apotheka through his venture Quay Concepts, built his name first on Club Matryoshka, an experimental nightclub he ran inside Minecraft in 2019. Apotheka is the physical-world version of the same instinct: a room designed around a concept night rather than a fixed genre, with Wieneke himself still playing sets under his producer alias, obese.dogma777.

Who plays there

On November 7, Apotheka hosts Busdak, a night built around Davao's tricycle sound-system scene, led by Weng Regotio of Team Lata-Lata Power. The bill runs Regotio alongside DJ Love. Lady Maria of Camus Girls, SoyMil and Wieneke himself as obese.dogma777 round it out. Presale for that night runs ₱700, with door tickets at ₱800. It's a useful snapshot of how Apotheka books: less about chasing a single genre's biggest name, more about pulling a specific regional or subcultural scene into the room for one night and handing it the whole floor.

Before you go

Apotheka doesn't publish a blanket dress code. Theme nights like Busdak tend to come with their own look, posted on the event's Instagram post in the days before, so check that rather than guessing. The venue hasn't published an age policy or payment details for this guide; if either matters to your night, confirm on the HelixPay listing before you buy. Poblacion itself is a walking neighborhood after dark, dense with bars and food stalls, but it's still Makati traffic on the way in: book a Grab rather than hoping for a taxi off the street, and budget for the same on the way home.

Nearby

Ugly Duck, the rooftop bar sharing Apotheka's building, is the obvious pre-game if you want a drink before heading downstairs. For the rest of Poblacion's house and techno rooms, see Loopliner's best clubs in Manila guide.
